SDRuno Rel 1.24 Behaviour on 70cm Band

Post by G8PTN » Thu Sep 20, 2018 11:00 am

Receiver: RSP1A
Antenna: External 2M/70cm Collinear

Possible Issue:
I have noticed a strange behaviour on the 70cm band with SDRuno Rel 1.24. Please refer to the information below. It seems that the receiver front end filters or gain blocks may not be getting configured correctly.

With SDRuno Rel 1.22 the receiver seems to operate as expected.

Also a minor observation:
Rel 1.24 installs in a directory C:\Program Files (x86)\SDRplay\SDRuno123
The user manual also refers to v1.23. I guess this is because there are no actual differences between v1.23 and v1.24.

Dave

It looks like crossing the filter boundary at 420 MHz fixes your issue. Can you provide a repeatable set of steps that get you into the non-working state?

Thanks and best regards,

Hi,

Thanks for the prompt response.
These are the steps I have tried to replicate the issue with SDRuno 1.24.

1. Starting from a condition of default settings
2. Set RF ATTEN to minimum. This step is not actually necessary
3. Select Bands, Ham Upper
4. Select 70cm
5. RSP1A now appears to be in a strange receiving state
6. Manually reduce frequency in 1MHz steps
7. At 419MHz behaviour changes
8. RSP1A now appears to be in a good receiving state
9. Manually increase frequency back to 435MHz in 1MHz steps
10. RSP1A still appears to be in a good receiving state
11. Go to step 4

I have also tried the test with and without the antenna connected and the same behaviour appears to occur.

With SDRuno 1.22, this strange behaviour does not appear.

I hope this helps to try and replicate the issue.

Regards,
Dave
