SCHEDULED RECORDING

I am operating an RSP2 running V1.23 (that works well for me - as far as I am aware).
I have not been able to use the scheduled recording feature successfully.
I have tried to schedule recordings by calling up the Recording Panel, setting start and stop times and "engaging the timer."
This has not worked - no recording starts.
Perhaps I have missed something, but have found no answer to this so far, so any guidance in solving this would be appreciated.
