Can't get omnirig + SRDuno + FT991A to talk

Post by M0JKW » Wed May 29, 2019 8:23 pm

Hi - I have the following setup:

Windows 10 64 bit PC running Omnirig connected to my Yaesu FT-991A

I know that Omnirig is working because I use CommCat for logging and I can tune my radio both ways with the radio tuning commcat and commcat tuning the radio.

If I have CommCat running then SDRuno shows 'Can't connect to OmniRig server'

If I close CommCat I get some very strange behaviour as follows:
* SDRuno can see my radio RIG1 typeL FT-991, status: On-line and used by: Inst.#0 VRX0
* SDRuno can set my FT-991A's MODE and my BAND
* My FT-991A can set SDRuno's MODE and BAND
* SDRuno cannot tune the FT-991A and the FT-991A cannot tune SDRuno
* If I toggle off then back on RSYN1, the FT-991A jumps to a set frequency (for example on 20m it jumps to 14.17500

I have reinstalled Omnirig but I am pretty sure that's not the problem as it works with other programs (commcat)

I have reinstalled SDRuno - still no joy

I'm at a bit of a loss as to what is happening - any ideas?

thanks in advance for your help.

Quick update. Unchecking the 'sync centre frequency' box in the omnirig settings seems to have fixed sdruno syncing with the yaesu problem.

It seems commcat has a problem with omnirig in that it completely takes it over and won't allow another program to use omnirigs com port but I have logging working at the same time as running sdruno with log4om so i am happy.

Hopefully someone else experiencing the same issues may find this helpful.

Thanks.
