SDRuno C_Band Jaero reception.

SDRuno is working quite well with Jaero C-Band reception.
The antenna is 2x 2.4ghz half dish type antennas fixed together and with added flywire mesh glued to the surface.
Using a Norsat 3220 LNB and a 900mhz High pass filter for input to the SDRplay.
A wider bandwidth for Upper Side Band (SSB) for SDRuno would be a nice addition for this type of reception.
The dish is 1.6m wide x 1m high, So the pickup reception is a lot lower than with a propper 1.8m to 2.3m dish.
Still its all working quite well and many many thanks for the free software.

cheers Tony.

Hi scannerz, great job. I'm running a similar set up off the 178E sat, but the only aero i'm getting are the ACARS channels around 1.545.000+. I'm busily searching for bursts, but not seeing any yet. Which sat are you pointed at?

I think your accessing L Band (1.5ghz) signals not C Band (3.6ghz).

The Norsat 3220 LNB is a for C-Band reception 3.4ghz to 4.2ghz which down coverts the the
3.616mhz signals to the SDRplay. So it can receive/decode them on the 1500mhz band.

For interest sake i`ve attached a pic of my modded satellite dish.
The Norsat LNB can be replaced easily with any smallish antenna.
As it slides in and out of the dish for fine tuning, On a plastic garden stake.
Was going to use wood/timber but i`ve found most timber contain moisture.
Which can degrade the signal.

cheers.
