SDRUno CAT problem

Post by on6dp » Fri Jul 15, 2016 7:48 am

HI,
I have a CAT Problem or configuration
Indeed, I have tried to CAT my FT-2000 with SDRplay on SDR-Console and SDRUno but it's seems that I have made a mistake
Any body can help me to explain the precise procedure to do CAT dialog
I have downloaded OMNIRIG and VSPE. I don't know if I must use VSPE or OMNIRIG or the both

Thanks for help me

In order to control your FT2000 you do not need VSPE. Install Omnirig.
The rest of the procedure is described in the SDRuno manual.
In short:
Go to MAIN window, SETT., ORIG and check if your FT2000 is on-line.
Then go to RX CONTROL window, SETT., ORIG and select what direction you want to control (VRX->RIG or vice versa or both).
Activate the RSYN button in the RX CONTROL window.

If you should not find the control panel for Omnirig due to the confusing description in the SDRuno manual (the most confusing description of Omnirig I have ever read): Go to your PC's folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Afreet\OmniRig driectly and start OmniRig.exe. Here you can select your FT2000 and specify the COM port parameters. I do not own an FT2000, but reading from Hamlib I see that the baud rate should be set to 38400. I can't verify it this is correct.

In SDRConsole you find the Omnirig setup under Display, External Radio.

Heinrich
When I'm lauching Omnirig Client I have the answer that the Port is not available and I have only Port1 (Physcal Port) not others virtual ports
I don't have virtual Port in my Peripherical window. It 's eems that I have a mistake
When I run Urouter from Microham, so it's good in windows of Omnirig but in SDR Uno nothing. No synchro frequ
From my FT-2000D I have an IF output that I put in the SDR. Is it right ??

Hello Paul,

your FT2000 must be connected to a physical COM port on your PC where Omnirig is runnning. It seems as if you are trying to access the FT2000 through an uRouter network. I do not have such a setup and cannot comment on uRouter.
But, when Omnirig Client.exe finds the FT2000 and reports frequency and mode correct (after you started your uRouter), any program interfacing with Omnirig must get the same information, including SDRuno, of course.

Did I understand right, that in the window of Client.exe all is right after you started uRouter? Or does Client.exe always report a missing COM port?

I have attached an image of my R-8500 (I have cut off some buttons which are not available for my 8500 to make the image smaller). This is basically how it should work with your FT2000. I have a physical COM1 on my PC, no uRouter network.

Heinrich,
Thanks for info
Now vie the uRouter of Microham I have my FT2000PEPV3 connected with Omnirg . It's onine in Tnst#0 VRX=0
But now my problemù is to input the RX Sound to the SDR Play.
Where must I take the RX?
Into the FT-2000D on IF? If yes where must I put the IF frequ 69,450 MHZ or 10,500 but where ?
Is the SDRPlay run only with a physical Antenna into the SMA connector?
Thanks for your help ?

Hello Paul,
I do not have an FT2000, but I read from web sites that people have connected a coaxial cable to a connector marked "SCOPE" inside the FT2000, which is a 69.450 MHz output. You can "receive" this output with your SDRPlay.
But I do not know the pracical details as I do not have the rig.
At the moment it seems that SDRuno is not very suitable for panadapter operation, use HDSDR or SDRConsole instead.
