SDR RSP2 Problem

Post by bigroo1958 » Sat Dec 16, 2017 12:50 am

Hi All,
I just purchased the SDR RSP2 and I am having issues getting it to work on AM frequencies 530 to 1700khz.
It does not appear to pickup no signal just distortion and nothing clear and readable.
On Shortwave, there seems to be no issue from what I can see, I am hearing the strong stations.
The software I have tried is the SDR Console and SDR Uno.

I am looking for guidance and what I am doing wrong with settings?
Also, is there an antenna port that works best for AM radio A or B?

Thanks again

Hello,

For MW listen you need to switch off the Notch Filter. If you continue with problems you can try down the gain.

The Hi-z port is recommended for frequencies below 1500 KHz, but all three will work. Make sure you have not enabled the MW rejector. The performance of the RSP on MW is very good, so you obviously have some sort of problem. Set the gain around half way. Can I ask what antenna you are using?

Thanks for the replies, these are very helpful.
I did try the Hi-z port and I did get success and good signals on the MW band. My antenna is a DKAZ antenna for MW frequencies and works very well on my other ELAD SDR.

Learning the software Uno and Console will take a little time but looks very comprehensive indeed.
Any tips on the scheduler using the Console software that someone can pass?

Thanks for the assistance
