Setting up SDR Ply on my FTDX3000. Use IF or Receive port

Post by jbroder3 » Fri Jan 05, 2018 4:06 pm

I am a new user. Just bought FTDX3000 and want to use SDRPLAY as a panadapter. I was told to use IF for connection to rig I was told to use serial port to computer because it was easier to set up.

What does anyone think. Told to use HDSDR software. I also want to use a good logging software and rig contr software.

HELP. KN4IRH.

I have had good success with the SDRPlay and my FTDX3000. I use the receive port since that port gets turned off during transmit and it gives you access to the entire spectrum that the FTDX3000 is hearing on the antenna port. It works very well. I use HDSDR for my software with Omni-rig to link the radio and HD SDR. Check the Cat to Radio and Cat to HDSDR options in HDSDR to do the settings.
