Is there more than one type of USB cable for RSP1A?

Hi all,
Just received my RSP1A yesterday. Ultimately it will be paired with a Pi3 B+ as a stand along receiver/panadapter. I imstalled the WIN7 install package and the IOdll package. When I plug in the RSP1A when asked, it shows "unknown device" iny control panel but that's as far as it gets. If I unplug the cable, the entry disappears so I know the computer is seeing something. Ibi try to run the RSP1A executable from my desktop, it says "no RSP1A's found" and then HDSDR starts.
