Sdrplay rsp1a help

Hi there got my rsp1a today and it's been fine.but when I put it on earlier on 40m set the rf gain to the lowest setting,the signael meter goes up normally when someone is talking and then suddenly it drops off and goes up and down.

If it's an SSB signal, that's normal. With SSB, there is a signal present only when there is speech.

Hi there,I know about that,what I'm trying to explain is suddenly there is a drop all over the spectrum and then it raises again.its hard to explain what is happening.

An intermittent antenna connection, perhaps?

Hi there,I have checked all the connections and antenna with my main receiver and its does not do it on that.it only seems to do it when the rf gain is on the lowest.it will work normally then there is a drop and then goes back to normal again.
