Serial Not Listed for Linux API/Driver

Post by jhaupt » Sun Jul 08, 2018 1:56 am

Hello,

In trying to install the correct Linux API/Driver, I see the S/N for our RSP2Pro is not listed. The S/N starts 170103CC...

I'm guessing the correct API gets chosen based on that number. I did try a random S/N but no unsurprisingly without success. Reinstalling gqrx both from the apt repository and by downloading binaries to be thorough. Anyway, gr-osmosdr and similar dependencies have been installed and working for some time.

Unsolicited opinion mode ON:

I'm on Debian 9, and Gqrx and GNURadio have been familiar friends for RTL-SDR and the HackRF for a couple years now. This arrangement with needing the API seems fragile.

If you are having a problem registering the device in the StartHere process (https://www.sdrplay.com/start-here) you can raise a support ticket at https://www.sdrplay.com/support and we'll help you.

The API installation isn't dependent on the serial number. You will need to get the right API for your processor. You will want the Linux install for x86 based systems, RPi install for ARM 32-bit and ARM64 for ARM 64-bit systems.

We also have a new Non-Windows Workflow that hopefully should help you: https://www.sdrplay.com/non-windows-workflow
