Has anyone successfully used the RSPduo with android tablet? Just purchased the RSPduo and understand that the S/W was designed for a windows environment. Will start there...but optimally use with another highly portable package such as Samsung tablet would be good.

Thanks...not sure if this was specific to new dual receiver. Will test.

Too new...should have done a little more research. However, the dilemma seems to be enough battery power to run SDR plus tablet or phone. Since the tablet/phone port is now dedicated to communications, how can the battery be supplemented or replenished simultaneously? Anyone come up with a solution? An inductively coupled charger might work...would I don't think they have such an animal for a Samsun tablet.

Well aside from battery power, the other drawback is the drivers dont always work well with android 7 or 8, at least thats been my experience with a S8 and samsung tablet. On a older tablet with android 6 on it, it runs great but the tablet is under powered and audio breaks up or other small issues related to cpu power.

I hope they get a chance to do some more work with the android side of things

You could try and use a powered USB hub.

Will be trying it with an S9. Hub is on the way...will be here tomorrow so I should get a chance this week to see if it's the correct one. I was afraid drivers may be an issue, just need to try. The allure of a very portable QRP setup is intriguing.

I do not want to quell your ethousiasm, but remember a well defined minimum capacity for RAM & Processor is needed. This is the reason why Android 6 is better than Android 7, because it uses less RAM & less Processor. 1 Mb RAM is probably not enough and you should have 2 at least, 3 MB is better. Of course the less applications you have installed, the better it will work.

In any case keep Bandwith as small as possible and Decimation as high as possible and use just the main VRX. These guidelines will help you avoid crashes. Please do not forget to let us have the results of your tests: this would be very useful operating information!

This Samsung Tablet has 4 Gb Ram and a 2.1 GHz processor. It is much quicker than the previous tablet. That being said, drivers are key. so don't know who develops those drivers if they need to be tweaked for this tablet (sm-t827v). I certainly will provide feedback as I think its very important to keep things small and portable. What sense does it make to have such a small receiver tied to a big laptop....though I can live with that.

BTW the tablet is an S3.
