hardware reset, or is my RSP2 bricked?

I have a USB extension cable for my USB mouse that lays across the desk here, and unfortunately I knocked over a glass of water which leaked into the jacks where the mouse cable and extension cable connect. This fried my mouse, but also completely screwed up my Windows USB drivers, so had to do reboots and driver re-installs to get USB working again.

Anyway, my RSP2 was also plugged into another USB port at the time, and now I can't get it to work on any computer. Plugging it into a USB port sends my WIndows 7 into a core-dump and shutdown. I've tried the RSP2 with Windows and Linux on another desktop, a laptop, and Linux on a Raspberry Pi3, but none of them "see" the RSP2 after installing drivers and software.

Is my RSP2 hopelessly bricked?

Tnx, 73

It looks very unlikely to me that water among USB terminals could damage the RSP2 USB interface, unless you were drinking salt water. You should check the laptop PSU for possible mains leakthru to laptop's common ground, also extremely unlikely. I would open a ticket with SDRplay tech assistance: it could just be a failure coincident with water spilling, but not caused by water at all......

Thanks, I'll open a ticket now.

You're right, it might be just coincidence. I'm not even 100% sure the RSP2 was connected at the time, I just assumed it was because it did work the last time I had it connected.

Hi Jeff,

How did it go? was the RSP2 really bricked or did you solve the problem?
