SDRSharper

This software is an alternative to SDR#

There has been some talk about the legalities of this software but i am of the understanding that it is based on the code of SDR# when it was OPEN SOURCE.

If anybody is interested the link is here.

http://www.filedropper.com/sdrsharper03h

Its embedded with the extio_sdrplay.dll file so just unzip it where you want and run.

SDRsharp was still using MIT licencing on even later versions than SDRshaper is based around. Modifying and distribution is permitted under MIT. I see nothing that enables that licence can be withdrawn at a later stage. As far as I see it, SDRsharper is fully compliant.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to use SDRSharper when you can get hold of a copy of SDR Sharp 1361 - which was also released under the MIT licence. Just type "build 1361" into the search bar on this forum to find the link. You will have to scan down the entries to find the correct post and there is also a link to all the old plug-ins from the russian web-site that work with this build.

If you want a good frequency manager go to fmsuite.net - the version which works with this build is available there.

Wow. From what I can see, SDRSharper is a FAR superior program as compared to SDRSharp. And more stable also. Too bad its development died. :(.

Having good results using SDRSharper and appreciate that the plug-ins were installed along with the application.

Does anyone know how to install additional SDRSharp plugins? One I used in SDRSharp (v 1361 and earlier) was a DDE tracking Client to adjust for doppler affect on satellite reception. Installed it as I would have on SDRSharp, but SDR Sharper doesn't like it although it did create a panel for it.

Maybe version incompatibility?

Any help appreciated

The problem described in my previous message with the DDE Tracking Client has been resolved. Didn't realize there were two ddl files required. After copying the second one into the folder, all is working as expected.

This plug-in is very useful if you are tracking satellites with WXtrack. It continuously adjusts the frequency in SDRSharper (or SDRSharp) to compensate for Doppler shift.
