AD convertor

1. What AD converter is used in the Sdrplay SDR receiver? Is the AD chip capable of transmitting and receiving? I saw a driver instructions for use in Sdrplay for an Analog Devices AD9361.
The AD9361 is a high performance, highly integrated 12 bit radio frequency (RF) Agile Transceiverâ„¢designed for use in 3G and 4Gbase station applications.

2. Is the Sdrplay sdr compatible with GNURadio USRP software?

Thank you
Rob

Hi Robz,
The ADCs are not separate devices and instead are integrated as part of the Mirics chipset. As a consequence, they can they can only be used for receive functionality with the RSP.

The RSP is compatible with GNU Radio via SoapySDR. The standard gr-osmosdr build has a soapySDR interface, so we recommend accessing the RSP this way rather than using a custom version of gr-osmosdr to control the RSP, which can be fraught with problems.

Sincerely
