Frequency Satbility

Post by AB5R » Thu Mar 10, 2016 5:41 pm

A simple question please. Does leaving the SDRPlay plugged into the USB port warm up and stabilize the frequency?

imho the SDRplay does not start the oscillator when you only connect it to 5V by USB. You have to start the software then it takes abt 15 min to warm up.

SDRplay (RSP1, RSP1A, RSP2pro) with:
RFsystems DX-10 (14kHz to 50MHz), resistive splitter 1/4, 1:16 transformer on Hi-Z of RSP2
ICOM Discone AH-8000 (10MHz to 2GHz)
12m above ground

Thank you DF1KZ for your input. I would think that the 5v would always be present on the USB port, regardless of the software being on or off. However, I may be wrong.
