DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

Post by Ryan » Sun Mar 27, 2016 12:33 am

I have tried to install my new SDRplay on my Windows 10 desktop by using the Start Here page on the website. I first tried using SDR# but as soon as I opened the program it froze followed by a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE error. I then read that the new version of SDR# may not work correctly so I uninstalled everything and tried again but using HDSDR and the same thing happened. I believe it is the Mirics that is causing the problem because when I would go to device manager and open the Mirics device the computer would freeze and I would get the DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE again. I have to uninstall Mirics to get my PC to play nice. Has anyone had this issue and if so how do I fix this so I can use my SDRplay?

Also if this matters I am using a NooElec dongle and ADSB# if that may be interfering with anything although I have unplugged the dongle from my PC and tried that as well but still the blue screen of death. Thanks in advance for any help!

I would check what USB port you are using - is it 2.0 or 3.0 - I would use an external mains powered USB hub to see if the problem goes away. We haven't seen that problem before.

Best regards,

My PC has 2.0, 3.0 and 3.1 USB ports. I have been trying the 3.1 and 3.0 ports and after reading your reply I tried a 2.0 port and I am up and running now. Well actually it's more like crawling. The error is resolved and my SDRplay is now working. Guess this has to be plugged into a 2.0 USB port? Now just have to learn how to use HDSDR. Thanks for your help!!

The 3.0 and 3.1 ports must be OK as I have had and currently have other devices plugged into them now that are not having any problems. Since moving the SDRplay to one of the 2.0 ports still no problems unless it has something to do with the USB cable. IDK?? I am just glad we got it working.
