Mac RFI

Post by sevende » Sat Aug 13, 2016 1:55 pm

According to the blog Mac has the lowest RFI, so maybe SDRPLAY team can work on Mac version of SDRUNO. CubicSDR is too unstable.

That would be nice, however I don't think you will see it happen. SDRUNO would have to be rebuilt from the ground up as a new Mac app. I wouldn't think they would spend the time needed to do this. It would be like starting from scratch. Wish it wern't so. :( Maybe we will see some additions in the future to CubicSDR.

It's a sad situation, (radio) people write Windows software because people have Windows (or a virtual machine). People run Windows because that's where the radio software is. Taking a leaf from L. Ron Hubbard, we should realize that just because people will eat rats to keep from starving, it doesn't mean that people like eating rats.

On the other hand, I don't understand the 'unstable' comment - CubicSRD has been rock solid for me since the day I installed it. It's a shining star in an otherwise empty sky.
