Hi All,

I managed to receive C2000 network messages with the sdrplay using external software like PDW Paging decoder, you can find that on http://www.discriminator.nl/pdw/index.html

I also like to receive and decode the astrid network messages used in Belgium, i have tried that but unsuccesfull, anybody have this running and working and like to share how to accomplish that? The C2000 network frequentie(169.650) is very close to the Astrid network (169.625) maybe that is the problem because of the interfence of the much stronger C2000 network signal.

Cheers,
Bernard

Bernard,

Good luck on decoding the ASTRID network.
I think is it not possible to do that, actually I'm sure It can't be done.

Thanks for wishing me good luck, but it would be nice to explain why you know that for sure that it is not possible? To have hardware to or to try decode the astrid network is illigal in belgium but i am in the netherlands for me its not, if you have the ric codes you can decode and receive the messages. You can even buy a Astrid semafoon in NL (illegal in belgium).

Cheers,
Bernard

There is a difference between the C2000/Astrid "messages" and the "voice communication".
I try to explain it simple.

The voice communication (handhelds) receive a key from the main server (ASTRID)
This key changes very rapidly, so if you could decode the key ( and that will take some time ) the moment you use that key, the key is allready changed to something else.

You can use a "original" found ASTRID portable but once it is marked as lost or stolen it will not receive anymore keys from the main server.

So it is pointless to try decoding it.

I'm not saying it isn't possible, if they can code it then there is always to decode it

Thanks for feedback, i go for your statement I'm not saying it isn't possible, if they can code it then there is always to decode it

It can be done and its being done, those astrid portables are for sale and i am not talking about lost sets but other sets that are modified.

Cheers
