RSP2 being recognized as RSP1

Post by SanJacinto » Sat Dec 31, 2016 9:35 pm

SWL since 1978 here, but a brand newbie to SDR. Purchased a RSP2 a few weeks ago, just now getting around to installing the SDRuno package and setting everything up. When the install prompts to connect the RSP unit during install, the driver shows as installing RSP1. I've replicated this behavior on two different Windows machines, one running Win 8.1 (3Ghz Dual Core Pentium, 8GB) and one running Win 10 1607, Build 14393.576.(core i5 5200u, 8GB)

Have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, installing as administrator, etc. Same results. RSP2 being reported as RSP1.

SDRuno will run, however no options for Port A/B, or the High Z port are displayed.

Searched the forum and haven't seen this issue mentioned. I'm at a loss.

Ideas anyone? Thanks!

Not sure what is wrong. But make sure that Sdruno is REL 1.12.

Ok, a little more information. Tried installing HDSDR 2.75 B3. It also recognizes the RSP2 as an RSP1.

Can you check in the device manager and send us some screenshots to support@sdrplay.com

- Showing the device list with Sound, video and game controllers section expanded
- Showing the RSP device properties Details tab and select the Device instance path Property from the pulldown

Can you also confirm that you have the latest hardware drivers installed (2.09), either by installing it directly from the downloads page or installing SDRuno 1.12

Thanks and best regards,

I wanted to follow up to my original post and give a public "Thank You" to SDRplay Support. They were very responsive to the issue I had with my RSP2 and once the problem was confirmed, a new unit was shipped out. Things would have been resolved even sooner had MY email client not been flagging their replies to me as spam. Doh!

Greetings,

I got RSP2 + SDRuno running normally yesterday by following the Start Here instructions at sdrplay.com. I used Win 10 (64 bit, AMD A10-6700 APU) with RSP2 connected to a USB2.0 port and after some trial and error the procedure succeeded after I power cycled the computer. Today and after a reboot Windows first started installing drivers for RSP2, then for RSP1 and thereafter RSP2 was recognized as RSP1 in the device list under Sound, video and game controllers section. A normal SDRuno uninstallation and rebooting did not help. A difference to SanJacintos case was, that SDRuno said "Error: RSP not found. Please check cable or device driver" and did not proceed from there.

What helped was another power cycle to the computer. Just shutdown and unplug the power for a moment and then turn it on again. After that Windows installed drivers for RSP2 only and SDRuno ran with no problems at all. I hope this might help if anyone else gets the same problem.
