Mac API breaks GQRX

I have tried running SDRPlay on my MAC but when I installed the API, it broke GQRX.
If I re build GQRX that wipes the API.
Is it a version problem with Qt?
The GQRX version is: 2.6.1 created from source
and Qt is 5.7.1
Is there a means to build the API from sources that might help?
Anyone else have this issue??
