RSP2 low Noise Figure usefulness ?

Postby vsonnier » Mon Jun 25, 2018 4:50 pm

Hello,

According to the RSP2 Datasheet, the RSP2 still has the lowest NF of all the RSPs, Duo included.

For what use cases such better NF would be an advantage over its younger siblings ? (ex: lab measurements ?)

Another question:
The PCBs from RSP1 to RSPDuo look more and more populated.
However, unique to the RSP2 is the usage of this big fat chip we see on the following image. Out of curiosity, what is its function ?
