Working Split (2 Virtual receivers VS 2 RSP2s VS RSPDuo)

Post by johnhlong » Sun Nov 18, 2018 3:57 am

I am trying to decide which is the best way to go to Run Split (as in a DX CW QSO).

1. Use two virtual receivers (Using my RSP2)
2. Use two RSP2s (or 2 RSP1As)
3. Use an RSPDuo
4. Use 1 RSP2 and the Kenwood TS-2000

I think with a little work they all should work, but what is the most reliable way to run split?
Are ther any advantages or disadvanteges on one method over the other?

FYI: I already have one RSP2.

Hello John!
I think the last mentioned is the best.
BUT!
On setup use SDR console or HDSDR,as software u must get synchro over virtual com software, and mast carefully fedd the sdr rx input ( supose to use same antena), on this i recomand:https://www.mfjenterprises.com/Product. ... FJ-1708SDR as hardware.
U can use as u wish this setup: listening (seeing) the pileup u know where the dx is calling -hi!, and tx with ts2000 (first two metod u mentioned dont have tx capabilities)
On google find lots of info about this setup,GL

The easiest and most cost-effective way is to just use two VRX's with your RSP2.

The reason for multiple VRX capability is to monitor multiple signals within the receive bandwidth (set by sample rate and decimation).

SDRuno and SDR-Console make it easy to setup multiple virtual receivers using one RSP device.
