dump1090 and virtual radar on duo, antenna question

Post by GT390 » Tue Jan 15, 2019 12:09 am

I have managed to get dump1090 and virtual radar running but would like clarification on how to listen to radio at the same time
I had to connect my main antenna to tuner 2 for the dump1090 reception so do I need 2 antennas if I want to receive radio at the same time or can I receive radio on the same tuner/antenna simultaneously. Does 1090 use tuner 2 all to itself ? When I tried to open another instance of uno to use the dual tuner it said no more devices were available.

I did rig up a coax dipole and connect it to tuner 1 and was able to get some reception while 1090 was also running, so are two antenna necessary ?

Reason: No reason

Hello, reading the specifications of your product indicates that you can receive the DUMP1090 and VHF ATC reception at the same time. You can use only one antenna if you are using a combiner. A note on your receiver's flyer says "Two simultaneous receive streams from both tuners using low IF and bandwidth limited to 1.536MHz maximum" and maybe it's better to send an email directly to customer support.
