The above is at a setting of 10 MHz.

This is usually a lack of power in the PC. Running the full 10 MHz bandwidth on anything less than a whiz-bang computer will usually cause problems. My i5 laptop (clocked at 2.4 GHz with 4 Gigs ram) is fine up to 8 MHz but stalls and stutters at 10 MHz. At lower b/w's I can play music and surf the web at the same time, but 10 MHz gives it the willies.

Yep. The trouble is that this *is* a super whiz bang computer. Built from the ground up by me for just this purpose. SDRuno is using 16% of CPU power right now at 10 MHz, and 26% total PC CPU usage. And I still get the audio chopping. This is a StarTech (Renasys) 4 controller USB card on a PCIx8 slot too.

WMME drivers, but I'll try ASIO. Latency is low too. I'm pretty baffled.

This thread lists lots of things to try: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/119 ... ering-help

In their case the problem turned out to be a virus checker.

Hi
10MHz span is useful to search visually a wide band for activity but ,except for DVBT and DAB, it is always better to limit
the span as much as possible when actually demodulating a particular signal.
I have found that 1.5Mhz has 2 side notches that can be very useful to prevent overload by local stations
in the FM band .
Also a very powerful computer is more likely to radiate interference.
