Introduction to Panadapters with SDR

Post by jon » Fri Apr 01, 2016 7:44 am

Lots of people are turning to SDRs for use as a Panadapter. The RSP is ideal for this. We have been working on a guide to Panadapters - this is very much an introduction to the topic and we hope to improve it based on feedback.

Another source of information and adapter kits for a number of popular transceivers is g4hup.com. I purchased a PAT50M to fit to my Lowe HF225 receiver as I wanted to take advantage of the front end band-pass filters to improve image rejection on HF. It worked very well.

It was easiest to use it with HDSDR software as that has options for setting a global IF offset. In the end I've actually come to the conclusion that I'm not very interested in HF anymore!
