432 MHz Performance

Post by G3RIR » Sun Apr 12, 2015 3:26 pm

How well does the SDRplay work at 432 MHz? I am intending to use it with a large 432 MHz array with a mast-head pre-amp. I am specifically interested in the signal to noise at this frequency and how well it copes with the mast-head pre-amp. I am also interested in the performance at 1296MHz and 144 MHz. Neil G3RIR

The SDRPlay has a gap in it's spectrum it doesn't [officially] cover 380 MHz to 430 MHz which cuts off the bottom of the 70cm amateur band. But as far as I can tell mine goes down to around 408 MHz. I can't be sure as I don't have a proper antenna but a 408MHz signal from somewhere is appaering and moves up/down the waterfall display as I tune.

You could order one and give it a thorough try out as they offer a 'no fault' 14 day money back guarantee.
