rtl_power for sdrplay?

Post by Toontje » Sat Jul 23, 2016 5:33 pm

Hi all!

I am looking for a tool like rtl_power to create heatmaps using the sdrplay.
Anybody knows of something?

Thanks,

Ton.

I had a look when I saw first the posting on the RTL-SDR site. Uses SoapySDR and is unfortunately 64bit and not 32bit compatible (I think).

Most modern hardware supports 64bit O/S's, however there are still a lot of users with 32bit O/S's (i.e. 32bit Windows 7/8/8.1 and even 10)

SDR Scanner works OK for RTL-SDR devices, would be nice if it worked with the SDRPlay, written in python and it may be able to add SDRPlay support but I have only started to poke around at the source.

Another very nice APP is SpectrumSpy for the Airspy devices. Works well, is fast, and can cover a narrow bandwidth as well as the full bandwidth of the device. It would really be nice to have something similar for the SDRPLay.

cheers, Graham ve3gtc
