Sangean Portable Antenna for RSP1A?

I would like to know if a portable shortwave antenna such as the Sangean ANT-60 could be used with the RSP1A for travel use. The Sangean antenna is a 7 meter/23 foot long wire antenna that terminates with a 3.5mm/1/8 inch mono plug intended to plug into Sangean radios with a corresponding antenna jack. The antenna also comes with a clip to attach to radios with a whip antenna (or bare wire into the SMA?) and conveniently rolls up when not in use.

Sorry for the lengthy description. In an earlier post I attached a link to the website for the antenna and was advised the post was rejected because "the message contains links to illegal or pirated software". Thank you

This is an excellent summary of the value of the Ant 60 which comments you could do as well with s reel of wire - instead of an alligator clip, a banana plug into an SMA male to SO239 adapter would be perfect https://swling.com/blog/2013/01/the-tru ... -antennas/

Sure it will work but it will pickup a lot of RFI noise if you are in a house, apartment or hotel. Outside it should work well when you plug it into the centre pin of the SMA connector.

Remember that the Hi-z connector is best when using a short-wire antenna. It also has by far the best response at LF if that is your interest.
