POCSAG Decoding Headless

Post by WB4DHC » Sun Nov 26, 2017 5:00 pm

Hello,
I have used SDRUno + PDW on Windows to monitor a paging system. This works well. I would like to use a Raspberry PI Headless so as to have unattended monitoring (and restart if the system reboots). I've seen several solutions for the RTL dongles but not for SDRPlay. Any pointers to the right info will be appreciated.

i did try a while back but didn't get it to work.

first rx_tools program rx_fm which is supposed to be an alternative to rtl_fm but i've found it to be junk.
secondly i tried the play_sdr app piped through csdr, i think it could work but it isn't at all user friendly and didn't figure out the right commands.

with rtl_fm i've used multimon-ng to decode pocsag, tried to get it to work the the above programs but no luck.
i would have dearly loved an sdrplay version of rtl_fm it would have saved me a lot of time.
