Cubic SDR build trouble

Friends

BLUF: need help with CubicSDR for Linux.

I have tried to build Cubic SDR on an old laptop running Debian8 Ham Radio Pure Blend. The machine has only the pure blend build installed and updated using apt-get.

Diligently following the instructions in Cubic SDR build has resulted in only errors.

I must be missing some libraries or othe computer stuff. No, I'm not a computer guy, just a former paratrooper. Airborne Rangers aren't known for their computer skills.

So I really want to make this Linux machine work with the SDRPlay, esp since SDRUno no longer works on my Windows machine.

Can someone point me to detailed instructions on how to make SDRPlay work properly with Debian Ham Radio Pure blend? I am a rank beginner with Debian trying hard to learn B please help, and please make no assumptions about my prior knowledge on the topic. I don't have much.

Thanks,
Kohn

Thanks! That looks like an attractive interim solution. I will give it a try. Creating a bootable drive for Debian was a challenge. I will persevere with sky wave until I get it done!

Thanks again for the great tip!
