Bob N3OEA, have you tried to contact the guy who did the sdrSharper version, he made some great changes, perhaps we can all get together and get something working???

Hello,

I just downloaded the latest SDR# and the SDRPlay plugin for SDR# - and it is not recognized again ... What's happening there? Kind of cat-and-mouse-game?
I personally would prefer to have a stable solution, and it seems that this will not happen with SDR#. Maybe it's better to focus on SDRConsole support? That's a more technically mature software, giving much more possibilities for signal processing. How is the situation with Simon, will we see updated SDRPlay support from that side soon?

Thanks!

Eckhard

Dear Eckhard,
Can you confirm the version of SDR# you are referring to? It has changed multiple times recently.

We are certainly putting a lot of effort in trying to get the best support with SDR Console.

Sincerely

Hello,

I just checked it again: The SDRPlay plug in is not shown (even the plug in installation runs without any error) with the latest 1412 version of SDR#.

Hello Eckhard,

Are you using the latest version of the SDR# plugin? (Version 2.2) - http://www.sdrplay.com/windows.html

I've tested this today and it's working with SDR# v1412

Best regards,

SDRplay Support

Hello,

I used the latest plug in - my mistake was just to overwrite the exiting SDR# installation with the new one. I deleted the folder now, made a new SDR# installation, installed the SDRPlay plugin, and now it works!
So, it was on the SDR# side not to be able to just install a new version over an existing.

Thanks!

Eckhard

There is a post at the rtl-sdr.ru website that indicates that their latest plug-ins (used with SDR# 1411 and up) will only work with a limited number of SDR's, the Airspy of course, Funcube, RTL SDR, and Softrock IIRC.

So while 1412 may work with SDRPlay, it would appear that any of the plug-ins, many of which are vital to those of us that use the SDRPlay at VHF and higher frequencies, will not function.

Or something has changed since I decided to type this message...again... :D

Thanks for all of your efforts, Jon and Co.

Hi all.
Just downloaded sdr#1412 and installed sdrplay "native" plugin 2.2
sdr# source list do not show sdrplay
I installed 2.2 again to be sure.

By the way, I want to thank Jon and all the tech team at sdrplay for their efforts.

Breaking news!

I added
<add key="The Best" value="SDRSharp.SDRplay.SDRplayIO,SDRSharp.SDRplay" />
in the FrontEnds.xml
and something is happening...

More breaking (or broken) news.

SDRPlay v2.2 installs and runs on build 1412

The rtl-sdr.ru has reverted back to the previous day's web page saying the plug-ins work for 1409 - but I'm sure when I looked at it previously it had said they worked for 1411. Best guess is they are fixing the plugins to work with 1412 right now - so hopefully tomorrow......

I tried the following 1409 plug-ins from rtl-sdr.ru

Baseband recorder - it works
File Player - you can't control the frequency/start point within the waterfall (but a file recorded on v1412 plays back correctly on 1404)
MPXOutput - it doesn't work RDSSpy reports silenceon the input.

Remember these things take time to fix so patience is needed. I very much doubt whether plugins such as MPXOutput have anything specific to SDRPlay - if they break with a new build they break for everyone.

The workaround for not having IQ compensation in SDR# (other than using HDSDR) is to run in low IF mode and accept a bandwidth of around 1.6 MHz. I've been running in this mode and been hunting images at twice the IF - and so far not found any.
