SDRPlay & New Computer
SDRPlay & New Computer
I will be receiving my SDRPlay and my new computer some time next week I have some question if some one can answer them.
# 1 - Will I be able to run SDRPlay AT 8 MGS bandwidth with this computer.
System: AMD FX 6300 3.50GHz 6-Core | AMD 760G Chipset | 8GB DDR3 | 1TB HDD | Genuine Windows 8.1 64-bit
Graphics: Radeon HD 7770 1GB Video Card
# 2 - When I download SDR Console V2 I have to download the two files to get SDRConsole v2 to work. Should I have SDRPlay plugged into a USB Port before I set up SDR Console.
# 3 - Should I use USB 2.0 Or USB 3.0 on the computer to run SDRPlay.
Any information Appreciated.
Steve

Re: SDRPlay & New Computer
1# Dont know, but most likely...
2# Before you connect sdrplay to your computer for the first time you must install the API/Drivers from download section http://www.sdrplay.com/windows.html - Then to get sdr console to work you download the SDR plugins (extIO) and browse to you sdr-console folder.
3# The USB 2 port will be fine but you may get some extra stability with the USB 3 port - aka faster chipset.

Re: SDRPlay & New Computer
Dear Saint,
Your PC should be fine for the full 8 MHz of bandwidth.
Please stick to USB 2.0, there can be occasionally some compatibility problems with USB 3.0
Sincerely

Re: SDRPlay & New Computer
Just a quick add, you only need the API driver for SDR-Console, the EXTIO file is only needed for HDSDR...
