At 2300 UTC receiving R. Algeria in US Midwest on Longwave (252kHz) (-97 dbm, SNR 16db) in French & playing Sinatra 'I've got you under my skin' on an RSP2 and home made Mini-Whip.

Wikipedia says R. Algeria operates at half power (only 750 KW) at night. You could get a quicker charge during daylight!! Europe 1 on 183 KHz might be better it's at 2000 KW apparently 24/7.

Yeah, but Europe 1 are beaming towards France and I'm at the rear of their antenna diagram. Worse still, the attenuation is stronger for the carrier than for the sidebands so we get some odd kind of DSB signal from them. Not exactly easy on the ears unless you have a synchronous AM demodulator which is one of the many things still missing from the Mac software for all SDRplay radios.
