FOR FM DX Which modell RSP

Post by HKIAA » Thu Apr 18, 2019 12:02 pm

Hello,

Is there differencies between RSP1A, RSP2, RSP2Pro, RSPduo. My main focus will be fm band dxing (87,5 - 108 MHz )

Hi. AFAIK there are no major performance differences between the models. I use the RSP2 because I like the ability to switch between two VHF/UHF antennas and also have a Hi-z input for my LF listening.
If you are concentrating on FM broadcast, the RSP1-a would be fine. They're all good.

One point in favour of the RSP1A is that at 6MHz sample rate and below the ADC is 14 bits which gives an extra 12 dB of dynamic range compared to the 12 bits of of the RSP2/RSP2 DUO. This should reduce the likelihood of signal overload.

I tried the RSP1A on FM (3m band) and it's absolutely splendid.
