RSP2 became deaf

Post by Deimos » Tue May 21, 2019 12:31 pm

First of all I need to notice that I'm new to RSP2 and SDRuno.
I've successfully used RSP2 for one month and suddenly it becomes deaf. Now I can hear only "strong" FM stations. Can hear other stations on my Yaesu VX-3R, but there is nothing when I use the same antennas on RSP2. I also tried to reinstall SDRuno - didn't help. Maybe there is something wrong with my settings? I'll be appreciate for any help. Here is screenshot:

Hello Deimos,
In your screen shot, your RF gain is very low. Try turning it up to maximum. This should have a huge impact on your UHF sensitivity.

Unfortunately, it didn't help. I'm listening 446.025MHz on two radios but RSP2 is deaf with all antennas

Hello Deimos,
Have you checked and validated your antenna connections? Also have you tried any of the other antenna ports?

The same problem with port A and port B. I've checked connections few times. The same antennas work with Yaesu VX-3R. Connector looks good.

A couple of questions:
Is the signal path exactly the same to the RSP and the Yaesu? Same cable, same adapters etc? Try replacing any that differ even if they look fine.
Does the problem exist at HF? At VHF? or only at UHF?
Did the failure happen while you were listening, or between sessions?

Maybe we can narrow down the problem for tech support.

Yes, the path to RSP and Yaesu is the same(no adapters). On UHF and VHF it is deaf but I clearly can hear local FM stations. I cannot test HF because I don't have antenna. I think the problem is in RSP2 or in application.
The failure happen between sessions.

Hello Deimos,
The most common cause of a loss in sensitivity is a blown front end, but looking at your noise levels, it is not obvious that you have a damaged front end, although it is still possible. I suggest that you try a different adapter and also try resetting SDRuno.

I should stress that as stated at the top of this page, this forum is not the official support mechanism, so if you prefer, you can open a support ticket at www.sdrplay.com/support if you are not able to resolve this problem.

Sincerely
