Spectrum Monitor Question
I have been working with cheap SDR dongles for a wjile now and just got a used SDR Play. It is one with the blue & white case and "F" connector. Can I view an 8Mhz span on the spectrum monitor and if sh how do I accomplish that?? So far I have SDR# working (used this for a long time) and SDR Console but have not become familiar with it. I have not yet got HDSR to work yet and any help would be appreciated as it seems to be a bit more difficult to set up.

Re: Spectrum Monitor Question
It id done in the ExtIO control panel, select the 8mhz bandwidth, or in sdr-console, when startup and selecting the radio, choose 8mhz as the sample rate. Look under the windows section of the sdrplay.com website and then at the bottom look at the community files, there is a document for sdr-console and HDSDR to help you get started....

Re: Spectrum Monitor Question
Thanks Paul!!
I now have HDSDR and SDR Console running along with SDR#.
SDR# is the easiest to use but not as versatile as the other two. With SDR console I can watch 5mhz on the monitor and listen but with HDSDR I can watch 8mhz but am not able to listen unless I cut the bandwidth back to 2mhz.
Is there any software for this or other USB SDRs to work as a scanner on non-trunked systems?? I have been using unitrunker and various decoders to monitor P25 and TRBO trunked systems and would love to scan conventional channels.

Re: Spectrum Monitor Question
You can download CSVUserlist, from http://www.df8ry.de/htmlen/csvub/ovHDSDR.htm
this will allow you to step through frequencies using HDSDR & SDR-Console once you setup with HDSDR, the same settings will work with console
