Setup SDRplay & SDR Console as Panadapter?

Post by cottersay » Mon Jan 18, 2016 7:17 pm

I have SDRplay tapped into my radio's I.F., which is 4.915MHz, and I am using the latest build of SDR Console.

All looks great, except I definitely do not want SDR Console's frequency display centered on the I.F., but rather on the band and frequency I am currently tuned into with my ham rig. Is there some sort of frequency offset that I can add to the SDR Console freq display to make this happen :?:

Thank you!

Did you configure SDR-Console with your correct IF?

Go to Display ->External Radio and click on the option button.
From there go to "Frequency" and select the radio button for "IF output" and enter the correct IF
Also be sure you have Omnirig set up for your particular radio.

That should work.

Hi Harry,

Thanks for the info, but I only have a K1, so no interfacing between the two is possible (it gives me an error message)... Is there another way?

Thanks!

If the K1 doesn't have provision for rig control I can't see how SDR-Console/OmniRig (or any other application) can read the frequency.

All it would take is a frequency offset. I somehow made 40M read "correctly" (the IF, at 4.915M, now has a frequency bar that shows 7.020 to 7.120MHz). Wish I remembered how I did that, 'cause I can't seem to get 20M to do the same! :(

If you go back to Display -->External Radio there is an Offset Slider at the bottom of the frequency display. Further, if you go to the External Radio Options and select Frequency you can create offsets for each mode.

Thanks Harry, I'll give that a try. (I've tried so much that I may have done it and forgot it -- which is probably why I got 40M to have an offset and not 20M!).

Cotter,

Join the SDR-Radio Yahoo Group. Very good community of users. Plus Simon monitors the group and is always willing to lend a hand. They may have more constructive suggestions.
