Bonito Mini Whip Active Antenna - how to connect to SDRplay?

Post by SDRPlayer1702 » Mon Jul 11, 2016 6:54 pm

Hi great to meet everyone here,

Your advice is needed. Badly! You can tell I am a beginner. I splashed out on a Bonito Mini Whip Active Antenna - question is; how do I connect to my SDRPlay RSP? I shuld have checked before. Aaaarghh. ;-)

Thanks,

What exactly is the problem?
You connect your RSP with the bias T splitter which came with the antenna and the bias T with the antenna. Mind the labeling, that is, do not confuse antenna and RX side of the splitter. The bias T needs a clean DC voltage from a hopefully noise free power supply.
Or is there another problem? Is anything missing in your set (e. g. bias T)?

Thanks Heinrich - I also didn't have compatible SMA Male connectors for the SDR Player RSP and I will receive soon. I appreciate your help, thanks! :-)

Cheers,

Sean

Yes, you should have a couple of various SMA adaptors "in stock" because many rigs use them now (Elad, Funcube, RTL dongles, USB network analyzers...)
