SDRuno opens in tiny nonexpandable window

Post by wc4sky » Sun Jul 17, 2016 3:59 am

Using Windows 10 via bootcamp on my new 21.5 iMac.
When SDRuno opens the program window size is about 1.5x1"
Windows can not be expanded(with double arrows).
Anybody else with the same problem?
Any ideas?
Jim

Yes, my complaint also. My computer is a Dell Insprion 13 with a 13 inch touch screen. Way too small to see clearly. Not even the magnifier is useful. All screens should be re-sizeable and with zoom adjustment. The spectrum screen is re-sizeable but no zoom control.
There are however some features I like. The ability to see a mix of spectrum and waterfall displays. Including spectrum only or waterfall only. I prefer spectrum only.

Another vote for a larger/expandable window. The program cannot be used on my tablet.

It seems that the developer had a fixed screen of 800 pixels across and never envisioned someone may be using an HD resolution screen and windows need to be resizeable or expandable. If your screen is 1600 pixels across or above (just about any laptop and computer less than 2 years old) the software is unusable. I wonder if anyone ever thought of that or just looked at a video recorded from a low resolution screen and gave it a thumbs up - "wondeful product!"

Hm, I have a screen 2560 x 1600 and SDRuno looks normal and the MAIN window is sizeable.
The problems seems to be with tablets with small physical size and high resolution using display scaling of 150% (or similar) to make texts readable at all. I have seen this e. g. with a Huawei Mobile Phone Internet Manager. You almost can't use this software on a tablet PC, the whole window has stamp size. On a desktop PC with recommended scaling of 100% it looks normal.

I may have the wrong end of the stick, but it sounds like you are describing the 'start' window that appears when you first run the software after installation. From this small window, you open up the main waterfall/spectrum window and the control panel. Together, these can fill the screen and you can configure them as you like.

I am having the same issue on my new surface pro 4. It works great on my desktop iMac. On the surface, all of the user Windows for SDRUNO are so small that they are barely visible. Also, the close and expand buttons are outside of the window. Has anyone found the issue for this yet? Is it the display scaling and if so, how is this remedied?

I had the same problem yesterday on a Macbook Pro started up in Bootcamp. A friend was installing the software so I didn't see everything. But I'm fairly sure it had something to with installing and running drivers and possibly one or two other packages that are required. Read the manual for details and follow the instructions exactly. The software is working fine now.

Yes, same here running Windows 7, OK may be not a problem but it's tiny uncomfortable.
