Multiple SDRuno Instances

Post by lguyot2 » Mon Nov 21, 2016 9:00 pm

Multiple SDRuno instances load well but I can only get one instance to "Play" at a time. Is this to be expected or is my config wrong? We would like to "Play" at least 2 different HF Ham Radio bands at the same time for example 40m "Play" in left speaker and 20m "Play" in right speaker. My desire is to monitor on screen the full 40m and 20m band activity at the same time. What particular configuration do I need to make this happen? Note that multiple receivers will "Play" at the same time within one instance but there is not enough bandwidth to allow monitoring crossband. -WB8YKH

Two instances can not control the same hardware so you would need another radio. That said, you can get one instance to span 8 MHz so you could cover 6.5-14.5 MHz and use multiple VRXs. To get 8 MHz coverage in the SP1 window use main window settings of at least 8 in the "SR (MHz)" drop down box and 1 for the "DEC" drop down. If you have plenty of processing power use 10 for the SR drop down, this will give you better signal at the edges of the coverage in the SP1 window. A side effect of having a large frequency span in the SP1 window is that the NBW (wide noise blanker) works much better for many types of interference.
