Post by Ricar1969 » Tue Jun 30, 2015 5:10 pm

Hi there, Have yet to purchase the SDRPLAY but will I need a Virtual Audio Cable in order to decode data on HF like with the RTL Dongles.
Regards Richard

Hi Richard,
For digitally encoded signals on HF such as DRM, if you use something like HDSDR or SDR# to control the RSP, you will still need a virtual audio cable to pipe the output to decoding software. The RSP simply selects the wanted signal but does not perform any signal processing.

The internal mixer of windows does the trick.
It is buildin windows so no additinal software to pipe the audio is needed

Hi ON4ALL.
I'm using WIN7 professional on LENOVO T410.
I never succeeded in doing that with ms win mixer (I'm currently using vb-cable)
Can you please post some hint how to do it with ms win mixer?

Same here, I've never succeeded in getting the audio from SDR# back into DSD+ using just the mixer. I usually endup in a terrible mess......

I had the same problem with sdrplay and a RTL Stick, The problem occurs with fldigi and DSD+. I have a IDT soundcard (HP laptop 8560w onboard version) running on windows 8.1 x64 and with the drivers of the soundcard it was not possible until i used the default wdm drivers from Windows. So it seems to be a driver issue if you can or cannot use the soundcard internal mixer of the soundcard in conjuction with sdrplay.

I can't see the problem.
I have the windows stereo mixer, enabled it and that's it
DSD+ was just working

If somebody would like to have the VAC (no demo) , just send me a mail :-)

Please note that the VAC that ON4LL is offering is a PIRATE copy so take care and download at your own risk, Richard
