ASIO driver?

Post by octave9 » Fri Mar 03, 2017 8:05 pm

Need a virtual audio cable and, having used Jack Audio Connection Kit on Linux I thought I could use it on Windows too. It's unfamiliar territory, so I could be missing something simple, but I can choose JackRouter as ASIO Driver on the Input tab of the main Sett. dialog, but nothing shows up in Jack control's 'Connections' dialog and audio isn't affected.

Anyone using the ASIO driver?

I'm not familiar with JACK and whether or not it provides a wrapper functionality like ASIO4ALL but ASIO has nothing to do with routing audio between applications (it rather impedes that, but that's a different story). I'm getting good results (on Win 7 x64) with this (donationware) audio cable gizmo:

Looks just what I need. Thanks.

(I'm a bit lost in Windows, but I remember using ASIO drivers and NetJack with which I could get multiple HD audio channels from one PC to another. Too much to play with right now, but I bet it could work with I/Q streams.)
