Filters switching frequencies

Post by F1BJB » Fri Jul 17, 2015 8:23 am

Hi
One of the things that decided my purchase was the nice documentation.
Some details are missing.
Am I right in assuming that 12 Mhz hardware frequency is the point where switching
from the 0/12Mhz filter to the 12/30Mhz one happens ?
This can be of importance :
Imagine you want to receive 11.9Mhz you can do it with a 11 Mhz VCO frequency
and a +0.9Mhz software offset or with a 13Mhz VCO and a -1.1Mhz offset.
In those 2 cases the filter used is different and ,depending on aerial and
propagation, results can be too.
May be adding a "filter in use" box to the GUI would be useful.
May be a manual override ,like in the SOFT66LC4 receiver ,too

The change over frequencies for the filters are;

0.1 - 11.999
12 - 29.999
30 - 59.999
60 - 119.999
120 - 249.999
250 - 380
430 - 999.999
1000 - 2000

so at 12MHz you have switched over to the next filter input. Hope that makes sense.

I like the idea of showing which filter is in use and we will try and incorporate that into a future release. Making it customisable might be a little more challenging but we will see what we can do.

Many thanks for the quick answer and sorry for my late reaction.
