We have no direct experience of this antenna, but on the face of it, it should be suitable for use with the RSP between VHF and upper end of UHF.

Perhaps there is someone out there with direct experience......?

Sincerely

Hi
Yes, ANT500 works perfectly with SDRPlay
I've tested it with FM (88-108MHZ) and some parts of VHF-UHF (120-600MHZ) with good results.
(Its frequency support is advertised as 75-1000MHZ and I haven't tested it with more than 600MHZ)

Well, that depends on your definition of 'local' ;)
I've tuned to local FM stations, local police radio, airport's ATIS, airband (communication between pilots and control tower), etc
So, that's a very good general purpose antenna to get you started.
Of course, you'll need specific antennas for specific tasks (HF reception, NOAA weather satellite reception, etc)
As you get more experienced, you'll build/buy antennas for your needs, but don't worry about that now
