SDRuno 1.2 and CSVuserlistbrowser problem

Post by henryb » Sat Oct 28, 2017 1:12 pm

I love the new SDRuno. I also loved the CSVuserlistbrowerser interaction with the previous version as per SDRuno Cookbook. After 1.2 installation there was no longer a link between SDRuno and CSVuserlistbrowser. In the receiver CAT menu I entered the correct CNCB0 virtual com port to replace the default COM10 and the correct 57600 baud with the ENABLE&CONNECT box checked. The NOT CONNECTED message failed to change. I restarted SDRuno and it reverted back to default settings in this menu.
I'd appreciate any help on this. Thanks and cheers, Henry

Hello Henry,

Did you hit RETURN after typing in the com port name? Try that and then hit connect.

Best regards,

Hello Henry,
I assume you use com0com. com0com proposes COM port names which cannot be used by some softwares. The softwares expect a denomination like COM[some number], but not random letters and numbers as com0com proposes.
Go into the com0com setup and rename your CNCB0, CNCB1 to COM12, COM13 (or whatever port is still free in your system). Then select one of these in SDRuno, the other one in CSVUB.

The "Return" thing SDRplay Support just wrote does not work for me. Only COM[some number] works.

Thanks SDRplay support,

That did the trick. I should have known. Now to work to familiarize myself with all the new features of 1.2. I noticed that the memories panel has some new columns. Lets see how they work.

Thanks again and cheers, Henry

Hello Heinrich,

Thanks for your always detailed and helpful advice. As you can see from the above message, a simple return after the CNCA0 port entry was all that was needed. I didn't need to go any farther. I all works now.

Strange. The Return trick does not work here.
But nevertheless. Good that it is working for you.

Yes, and also VSPE is working too, of course.
In my expierence I have learned to avoid COM port names like CNCB0 or something. They work in SDRunoEXTIO here, but I had problems in SDRuno 1.2 when I tried to reconstruct Henry's problem.
But no worry. It's working for Henry now.
But I still recommend to name COM ports COM1, COM2 a. s. o. There are some applications where the COM port enumeration fails when the names do not start with COM... E. g. the Perseus SDR software olny accepts a number and adds COM... automatically. Here you have no chance at all to enter something like CNCB0.
