Re: Magnetic Loop Antenna with SDRPlay

> snovotill : I've been looking at that amp/antenna design for use at home. I like the design and the balanced twisted pair feeder. Please let us know how it works! The Degen wouldn't be my first choice for a fixed antenna. It's main benefits are its size, making it a good alternative to the typical...

Re: Magnetic Loop Antenna with SDRPlay

I think it's a bit more complicated than that, but I'd like to see someone try! For a low cost indoor alternative, consider the Degen DE31MS indoor active loop antenna. The whole thing knocked down easily fits in a 25 x 15 cm padded postal envelope so is great for travel. Performance isn't fantastic...

Re: ubuntu 16.04: nothing works!

I can confirm adding: mir_sdr_SetTransferMode(mir_sdr_BULK); above all mir_sdr_Init statements in the source code stops the crash using USB 2.0. For SoapySDRPlay I had to edit Registation.cpp and Streaming.cpp. dump1090_sdrplus now works after modifying dump1090.c . Glad to see we got this fixed! 73...

Re: ubuntu 16.04: nothing works!

I had a chance to uninstall SoapySDR and CubicSDR and rebuilt both using the SoapySDR v0.4.4-gdb459f4f release. I also deleted and rebuild the SoapySDRPlay module. Unfortunately, the behavior is the same as before. The messages are the same, although I did note that it printed "SDR enumerator done" ...

Re: ubuntu 16.04: nothing works!

I had a long day at work and didn't have a chance to try SoapySDR v4, but I can report the results of the tests you mention match yours except that the mirsdrapi is in /usr/lib instead of /usr/local/lib. I also have the 32 bit version of libusb installed as part of my multilib configuration along wi...

Re: ubuntu 16.04: nothing works!

I found why 1.95.3 wasn't working. The .run file format changed a bit and the PKGBUILD was creating the library with the wrong name. The old one was still there, so it was installing it. Deleting all the libsdrplay items and starting fresh gave me a missing file error that showed the problem. I rena...

Re: ubuntu 16.04: nothing works!

Yes -- Usually I delete the "build" directory, recreate it, run cmake .. from it, and then make to generate a new copy of SoapySDR and the same for the SoapySDRplay module, but noticing that the action would change. However, with all the changes and testing, some old files may be left behind. When I...

Re: ubuntu 16.04: nothing works!

Hi Wolf -- I'm using a Lenovo Thinkpad T520, quad-core Sandy Bridge CPU, with a Transcend Expresscard dual USB 3.0 adapter feeding a fairly old "Plugable" powered USB 3.0 port. I've got 16 GB of RAM. OS is Arch Linux, a "rolling" distribution that I update regularly, now using Linux Kernel 4.6.4. Si...

Re: ubuntu 16.04: nothing works!

I gave 1.95.3 a try, but I'm getting the same error I got with 1.95.2: [dl@t520 build]$ SoapySDRUtil --info ###################################################### ## Soapy SDR -- the SDR abstraction library ###################################################### API Version: v0.5.0-g37c7ea4b ABI Vers...

Re: API (1.94) and EXTIO plugin (3.9) released - still locks up kernel on Ubuntu 16.04

Moving the SDRPlay to a USB 3.0 port eliminated the crashes with SoapySDR/CubicSDR and dump1090_sdrplus using API 1.95.1.

Haven't tried reinstalling 1.95.2 to see if it still fails nicely with the undefined symbol error.
