I know about birdies, and I think I have reasonable expectations. Even my IC-R8500 has a few birdies.
I'm still learning to drive this thing, and always looking to improve.

Re: Bothersome spurs
It's possible that they are computer related, but I'm very puzzled that a stop and start (from the home tab in SDRPlay) changes the character of the noise completely. It sometimes, but not usually, changes if I change bandwidth. I have not seen it change when I change IF frequencies. I'm using an RF...

Re: Bothersome spurs
At the moment, changing bandwidths isn't helping, but the entire charachter of the spurs changes if I stop and restart the receiver without changing anything else. Seems like it's sort of random.

Looking pretty good here
I just got mine last week, and I've been using it a bit. It tunes broadcast AM and FM reasonably well. My only real issue so far, is some annoying spurs that crop up from time to time but I'm probably doing something wrong. At some point, I will take it into the lab and check sensitivity etc against...

Bothersome spurs
I'm seeing intermittently, the appearance of spurs all over the band. These happen with no antenna, but generally don't happen if I select the High Z antenna. They are at regular intervals, and I can usually ignore them, but at the moment one is sitting right on top of a signal that I need to see. T...

How can I get more resolution over my small band of interest?

Re: Extreme narrow band
I have the waterfall resolution maxed out already. "As an aside in SDR# you can increase the resolution of the spectrum but it slows down the response a lot, but I can't see how to enhance the resolution of the waterfall." What is SDR#? I'm not too concerned about the response. The "Dits" I'm lookin...

Re: Extreme narrow band
Ok, I already got that, but at least my current understanding is that the system is taking in lots more data than it needs to, and discarding most of it.
The resolution within that 200Hz slice isn't very good. I'd really like to see much finer, 1hZ if I can get it. I don't know what's possible.

Creating a filter/demodulator
Is there a template or example for creating a filter or demodulator? This is very much jumping in at the deep end, but I'm wanting to try something like a boxcar integrator, where the data is averaged over many carrier cycles worth of time, and this process is repeated for various frequencies. It's ...

Extreme narrow band
Ok, my unit arrived last night, and I've been poking around in SDR Console V3 How can I best configure for very narrow band CW in the 600 meter band? The smallest bandwidth I can select under Home, Bandwidth is 500kHz, so I used that. I have the display set to 200Hz wide, and I'm receiving, but each...
