Re: RA0SMS vs PA0RDT Active Mini Whip - RA0SMS is Very Noisy - Why?

Neither antenna receives any signals without the power applied. One is a real PA0RDRT (works) and the other is an 'improved' PA0RDT design (does not work). Since posting the original thread, I bought a cheap Chinese copy of the PA0RDT (eBay) and it works nearly identical to the real PA0RDT. The nois...

Mine is the new RA0SMS with a wire, not a plate. The wire is approximately 5-6 inches long.

Re: RA0SMS vs PA0RDT Active Mini Whip - RA0SMS is Very Noisy - Why?

Peaks every 10 kHz sounds familiar - where are you located? If you are in the USA, then this may be intermodulation from MW broadcast stations which are spaced by 10 kHz. It sounds like the RA0SMS antenna may be a sub-standard design compared to the PA0RDT. Yes, I am in the US. I tried a broadcast ...

RA0SMS vs PA0RDT Active Mini Whip - RA0SMS is Very Noisy - Why?

Posted byu/ultravista_2 1 day ago RA0SMS vs PA0RDT Active Mini Whip - RA0SMS is Very Noisy - Why? I have been using a PA0RDT active mini whip from Roelof Bakker for about a year now. The PA0RDT antenna has served me well. Clean and able to pull in signals that a 260 foot loop and various long wires ...

Re: SDRuno with Yaesu FT-950

I can't edit - keep getting 'must choose two poll options' despite this not being a poll ...

Using the dvb-t+dab+fm USB dongle, I do not have the IF Output Mode as described in the manual. Is this because I am not using an RSP?

The IF box is not present in my copy of SDRuno v 1.22

SDRuno with Yaesu FT-950

I would like to use SDRuno with my Yaesu FT-950 via a USB SDR dongle. The FT-950 IF tap is @ 69450000. In HDSDR, I can set the IF @ 69450000 and with the right extio.dll (16 bit), I can see the spectrum and with a little off-set tweaking, can get spot-on with the frequency. I cannot get there with S...

Re: Which Windows 10 SDR Software(s) Work with the RSP2?

Zoom - it's hard to put into words how far I zoom. With SDRSharp, I can can slide the zoom very far into the signal until it becomes blocky (not that I need it that far). With SDRuno, the zoom is only a few steps and the signal 'spikes' aren't very pronounced as they would be in SDRSharp. Here is an...
