Edit issue with first post in a thread

Even though I no longer participate in this forum, when I ran into an issue similar to the one this page experiences when one tries to edit their first post in a thread. This solved the problem with the EE student help system. I hope this helps Noel https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=21...

Re: REMOTING RSP VIA USB - PROBLEM SOLVED

Hum....
I thought the link https://www.onsemi.com/pub/Collateral/TND335-D.PDF was about as far from personal as possible.
Just because something is possible might not mean it's a good idea.
Don't worry, I won't mention this again.

Best sound card for SDR

This might be a silly question, but, does it make sense to go for an ultra high end sound card with 96KB sample rate when signals in the 10KHZ~30MHz span are typically pretty messed up what with ionospheric anomalies etc. Since the highest audio frequency I'm likely to receive/recover is ~5KHz, I ca...

Some thoughts and observations on the RSP1a and EMI

Some thoughts and observations on the SDRplay RSP1a and EMI, AKA RFI or Radio Noise. I suggest anyone interested in understanding their EMI take a look at: https://www.nk7z.net/sdr-rfi-survey-p1 is the first of three pages that show one way to use a SDR for a RFI <EMI> survey. I'd already developed ...

An apology

My hobby laptop was stolen about 10 days ago. It had the account name and password for this and few other hobby sites. Whatever joker stole it deleted some of the posts I made here, if anyone missed grabbing them I can repost them. HP was able to access the PC and "brick" it. I don't mind ...

Low noise antenna feedline

In post: https://www.sdrplay.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3521 'glovisol' brought up a very important point. "This article is representative of what could and should be done with a conventional receiver with umbalanced 50 Ohm input. But with this scheme the risk of the in between coax ...

Using a SDR in a remote cabin

With modern design and components it is easy to make radios that are external noise limited for ELF-VLF-LF-MF-HF. By " external noise limited" I mean the normal ambient RF noise floor [or level] is high enough to make low noise design overkill. For some applications, beginning at 20MHz int...
