Re: Proposed upgrades to RSP1 no cancelled ??
Hm, I would say most of the wishes for the RSP 1 have been recognized and the result is the RSP2. Only thing I don't like with the RSP2 is the high impedance antenna input for VLF and LF. I am using an active antenna there which has a 50 Ohms output. So the recent buyers of the RSP1 have funded the...

Re: Learning to use SDRplay for Inmarsat
That's good, so you have a big margin in your link budget, i wonder which signal level would catch your L-Band antenna without obstacles.
Could you post a photo ?
Have you conducted any Aero channels decoding with Jaero ?
If positive, what ENOB's values you saw ?

Wide band spectrum analyzer / scanner
I'm used to tune my RF filters with the help of SDRRTL scanner stand alone program (windows version), a generic RT820T USB dongle and a RF wide band noise generator, so i was wondering if exist, or is under development, an equivalent application for SDRplay. The 12bit ADC sampling system would give ...

Re: Learning to use SDRplay for Inmarsat
but I noticed that the signals were always several dB stronger if I beamed through the brick wall instead of the window. For sure your is not a reinforced concrete house, otherwise you should get ZERO signal. Are the walls made by brick & mortar or is wooden construction ? How may dB you gain point...

Re: Dimensions of new case
I conducted some rough RF "leakage-in" test closing the SDRplay input with a 50ohm tap, in this condition on my bench i receive residual FM brodacast and 900Mhz GSM signals, the latter with quite strong amplitude. Of course things change a lot moving the device. Shielding externally the SDRplay plas...

"@IW2NYX: WWVH should be at 10.000 MHz, not 9.996 MHz. You'd better adjust your Frequency Trim :-)" Dear jschall, that screenshot is about the time signal of Moscow Institute of Metrology for Time and Space, that transmits on following freqs : 4996 Khz 9996 Khz 14996 Khz http://www.vniiftri.ru/inde...

Re: FM "ghost" signals on UHF
@mbott : you need a more performant notch filter, the one you pointed out has a min notch depth of "only" 25dB, mine has a min depth of 40dB / max depth of 60dB (tested on rf network) and does not fully solve the problem, see my "review" on this section of community forum. In addition you have to de...

Re: Frequency Error?
1500Hz seems a lot, i suggest to switch on the carrier of another station, ie wwvh NIST (http://www.nist.gov/pml/div688/grp40/wwvh.cfm)
With -0.7ppm LO trim my SDRplay is frequency "spot on" on most reference stations.

A mixed bag, something good, something bad !
Hi to all, i'm a fresh new SDRplay's owner, two days ago i got this toy with a lighting fast shipping service (thanks for that) and i put it "under load" to check its performance. I have to say in advance that i'm quite experienced SDRs user, i started to play with them lot of years ago (with very f...
